The Norfolk Daily Enquirer
Last week Simon Networks was implicated in a news article concerning Mr. Hand and Global Media Holdings LLC. Global Media was an consulting firm for overseas deployment of video technology over Internet. Its was dissolved nearly three years ago due to the tremendous amount of red tape involved in dealing with foreign corporations. However the Daily News didn't state that nor did they say that it was a Nevada Corporation. Simon Networks is in no way associated with Global Media and never did have an office in Nebraska. In my opinion is was the sole intent of the Daily News to link the two companies to try and smear Simon's reputation. This type of journalism is reminiscent of cold war soviet censorship with a flair of supermarket tabloid gossip thrown in. Lacking integrity and concern for the employees of Simon and it's subscribers now has me wondering if we can believe anything they print. Dirty laundry journalism may work for the nations media but I believe in today's economy and uncertain job markets, it is their responsibility to try and bring some good news to our small community and help us all to weather the storm.

ReplyDeleteDo you really think the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance would issue a cease and desist order for Troy Hand, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees without first conducting a thorough and accurate investigation?
ReplyDeleteState agencies do not allow themselves to be subject to a liability lawsuits. Find the Cease and Desist order here:
http://www.ndbf.ne.gov/pressreleases/2010/Global-Media.pdf
As the order from the Nebraska Department of Financing states, "Individuals who may have been contacted by or invested with the company or TROY HAND are asked to contact Thomas Sindelar with the Department".
Sindelar may be reached at (877)471-3445 in Nebraska, or (402) 471-3445 out of state.
If you have been contacted by Hand or anyone representing him be safe and call Sindelar.
It's funny that anyone would accuse a media outlet of cold war soviet censorship and then say it's the responsibility of the media to bring good news to a small community.
ReplyDeleteWhat you're basically saying is only happy stories should be reported and all negatives should be glossed over as if they didn't exist?
Did you know the arrest of Soviet Russia's most prolific serial killer was hindered because its Communist government didn't want its citizens to know such negatives existed in their "utopian" society?
I know Troy personally. Dealing with him is like dealing with Petters, Madoff or any of the other slicksters out there. He is brilliant, but a liar, ingenious but naive, personable but a narcissist and most of all, he frittered away hundreds of thousands of investors money without paying back a single dollar. I loaned him money to buy groceries and he paid my trust and help back with fraud and mismanagement. Sorry, but Nebraska is the tip of the iceberg with Troy. Ask why he fled MN sometime-not just his family problems, I assure you. Great ideas, but criminal implementation. Deal with him at your own risk. Owes hundreds of thousands to lots of people. Surprised that anyone who did a half ass job of vetting him would have much to do with him at all. Do not open your checkbook to him. There are a lot of people looking for Mr Hand and their money back.
ReplyDeleteTroy Hand was nothing but a low life drunk. He was a smug fool and a con artist. Not brilliant but a dim bulb when you keep thinking you can get over on people and keep getting caught. Total D-bag.
